Intro
The classic full-pin model from Fritschi, without lateral release in the toe piece; like the Vipec Evo 12 but with a few interesting features that make it unique. Like the horizontal pivot of the toe arms that prevents accidental release even with the lever open and is extra resistant to torsion. The heel piece also feels solid and there is 10 mm of elastic travel to compensate for the shorter length when the ski bends during a turn. There are two versions: 10 and 7, the latter with release values from 3, suitable for lighter skiers.
Fit
All mechanisms work well and make entry and exit a piece of cake. If you manage to align the pins precisely, then it works fine, if not the binding will close but it will need another click. The walk mode lever (four preload settings) is ergonomically shaped and the right kind of stiff, easy to maneuver with the handle of your pole or with the point when unlocking. To lock the brake you need to push it down towards the heel unit and rotate the tower. As with other Fritschi bindings, the climbing aid is easy to operate using a ski pole (there's just one on this model, other than flat mode).
